Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Happy Monday y'all!

Today is a super special post that I'm teaming up with KAS New York on to take part in their #KASCares campaign! I was asked to think of a non-profit to donate part of the sales to and didn't think twice before picking the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - LLS.org

As majority of you guys know, I don't share too many personal things here on social media however, back in 2017, my mom was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). CLL is a type of blood cancer that begins in the bone marrow and is watched over carefully with lots of tests. It develops from a type of white blood cell called B cells. It progresses slowly, usually affecting adults. Best news of all, many people with CLL live good-quality lives for years and years with medical care. It's never a fun thing to hear that someone so close to you, let alone your mom, is diagnosed with something that may not be curable. In recent years, new therapies have been approved and other possible new treatments are being studied in clinical trials. Progress toward a cure is under way.

Bad news is never fun however, there are tons of ways to go about looking at it. It definitely has taught me that life is way too short not to live it to the fullest (as cliché as that sounds). It's taught me to continue to be kind to others and others who I may not know because, it's indeed true when people say "you never know what someone is going through". This type of news is a great reminder to take days, day by day. There is no sense in worrying about the future -- "Worrying won't stop the bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good" --  "Staying positive every single day, and enjoying all the little things".

I'm so thankful for this opportunity to share with you all. If you or someone you know is going through something similar, you're not alone!

If you guys are interested in donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society -- For every purchase sold on kasnewyork.com, they will donate a portion of each sale to LLS.org! & if you happen to buy, A HUGE personal thank you from not only myself but my mom Linda as well! And if you don't happen to purchase anything / aren't able to, please know that even just reading this post means the world! I'm thankful for each and everyone of you!

Be sure to take a look below at some of the items I'm wearing via KAS!
