Insta Recap & Life Update

Wednesday is here and another week has gone by where I haven't written a blog post.
I did however attach some of my recent looks I've posted on IG!

As we get older time seems to fly by quicker than the year before. That's how it's felt for me within these last three weeks. These past three weeks have felt like an entire year. I've been getting lots of questions about why I haven't been posting as frequent and questions about some of the things I've been posting on my Instagram Stories. If you've been following my blog or Instagram for some time, you are probably aware that I hardly ever post anything personal about myself or my family. It's not that I don't want to, but sometimes it's hard for me to share things so personal. I've definitely written out numerous blog posts about personal things that mean a lot to me like body positivity and whatnot but for some reason at the last minute, I always seem to hit delete.

That's not the case today! This is in no way supposed to be a sad post however, some unfortunate things have been going on in my families life recently. I hope after reading this post you all can feel a bit more educated and inspired to take life day by day and to never forget to hug the ones you love!

So long story long (haha), I'll try to keep this short - If any of you have ever had the awesome chance to meet either of my parents, you know they are not only so caring but they look like the epitome of health. Over the last few weeks both my parents have gone through some tough health scares that have made me rethink the way I prioritize. Of course above all else family is always #1. However, I find myself always worrying about my blog and my Instagram and stressed at 11pm on a Tuesday night because I forgot to post that day when my engagement is best at 10pm. I love everything I do, and blogging / fashion in general is truly something that means more to me than I could ever explain.

So, I'm sure by now you all are curious what's going on with my parents. First, about two weeks ago my dad was in the hospital with really bad, and I mean a HUGE blood clot in his leg. Unfortunetly it led to a pulmonary embolism in both his lungs, which if you google it, sounds really scary. Luckily, after a long week in the hospital he was able to come home. Blood clots still haven't diminished, and they are not exactly sure why he got them in the first place however, we are very hopeful with a little bit of rest, relaxation, and blood thinners, he will be on the road to recovery! My dad is a very hardworking man and he loves to workout and ride his bike - So if you know him, the whole "resting" thing isn't really his cup of tea haha!

Secondly, days later after my dad coming home from the hospital, we got the news that my mom has been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia - a type of cancer that affects blood and bone marrow. People with CLL could have had it for years and not even know it until they are diagnosed. For years though, my mom knew there was something wrong however, they never got to the root cause. In a hopeful sense, no type of cancer is good however, CLL is something my mom could potentially live with forever. Forever meaning she can go on with her days and live a normal life, just going in regularly for different tests, appointments, and check ups. I'm still not 100% sure about all the details and facts of CLL, as we are all still learning, but all that I know is my mom will be around for years to come!

I've debated writing about this however, you guys are like my family too! I didn't want to keep you all in the dark about why I've been a little MIA. I appreciate everyone whose been asking if things are okay, everything is good! Maybe not the best news however, news that reassures that life is definitely very short and to be kind to everyone you meet! You never know what someone is going through and you should never forget to follow your dreams. I wanted to take a little detox from my computer and take a quick break to reevaluate all that I'm doing! I still have been working really hard these past few weeks to produce content, I've just been a bit behind schedule is all! And sometimes that's a-okay.

Fast forward through those three weeks to now. I'm ready to devote more time than ever to my blog. My blog is what keeps me thriving and excited for opportunities yet to come! If I've learned anything at all through these times, it's that I want to live a life worth remembering, one that I'm proud of and a life where I can make an impact. I'm so lucky to have the family I do. A family who is supportive and who is also excited to see me succeed. So like I said, long story long, this is small peek into my last three weeks!

On a bit of a different note, while we are at it haha here are some other exciting and eventful things happening in my life at the moment:

1. I'm excited to be working with some amazing new brands and companies to bring you all some epic new content. I'm also hoping to start doing "on regular basis" YouTube videos!

2. One of my goals is to do a little rebrand / refresh to my blog. Possibly changing LMP Collections to something new. If y'all have any suggestions, I'm currently still on the fence! I want to make my site more user friendly and just give it a mini makeover!

3. Tyler moved back home! He was living in VA this summer working doing an awesome internship. Last week I drove down with his family to help him move home! I'm so thankful he's back!

4. I'm working a in office job 3 days a week and I love it! I love staying busy and the company I work for is really inspiring and motivating!

5. I'm hoping to do a bit more traveling! First up the next "bigger" trip I'm hoping to book is back out to Palm Springs this fall with Jackie!

Stay tuned! Starting now, I'm planning an exciting blog schedule!
And a big thank you to y'all who keep me motivated!

xoxo Lisa!
